Eligibility

Who can become a member

Membership of the scheme is open to all individuals who meet the minimum requirements for an eligible person, as follows:

Any Kenyan citizen or person ordinarily resident in Kenya who has attained the age of eighteen (18) years and is employed in the informal sector, or the formal sector, is eligible to apply for enrolment as a member of the scheme.
The application for registration shall be completed and submitted through an electronic scheme administration platform — USSD *254#.
A member shall be informed of their date of membership through the electronic scheme administration platform, USSD *254#, prescribed by the Trustee.
